I've sent you a clip of about 5 seconds. Hopefully it will get through -- it is about 8 meg. You should be able to play it with Windows Media player as it is an ".mpg". |

My (very sloppy) installation of the Plextor Mini Digital HDTV Receiver:
---------------------------------------- The receiver is the small silver thing hanging from its USB cable on the black background between the PC case and the CD cakebox in front of the PC. The antenna is sitting on top of the PC. I know, I should straighten up my desk  Here is a snapshot from an HDTV Travel Show on PBS (taken using the viewing software that came with the receiver):  The posted image had to be resized down from about 2 meg, so the clarity doesn't come near doing justice to what is seen on screen. Dang nabbit! (yeah, I self-edited that one; see if you can guess the original meaning) Mushball is gonna pass me in 91 days! And thats with both rigs up and running nearly 24/7! Good News/Bad News
----------------------------------------Good News: It’s raining and we need it badly. Looks like more on the way for the rest of the week. Bad News: Another machine is dying (9 of 9) and I shut it down last night. It errored out 3 consecutive work units and the drive is failing. Good news: It’s only a single core that has been running at 67-68C since April. Bad News: I’m not going to fix or replace it anytime soon as the cost of running it is not worth the few results it returns. Just Plain News: I am going to be crunching for PCQ&A with the Base Campers from 12/9 through 12/22 in memory of Len’s wife Laura who died recently. It was not an easy decision for me as I would prefer not to take away points from MOT’s year-end goal. Although I have no religious convictions, I think it is a small thing I can do for Len and their team in this holiday season of giving. I’ll be back to MOT on 12/23. Cheers! |

I can't believe I now have HDTV and it only cost $70 (There was a $20 rebate on it until the end of November). It really would be a nice Christmas present to yourself!
