Re: Looking for survivors to join Team "The survivors"

sunfolk,

Thanks for sticking around. I am working hard to find new crunchers for the team and in the meantime I appreciate your help.

I was crunching a few other projects trying to get new badges but have changed over to HFCC and HCC and downloaded all I can get. I have some tasks due on the 9th so I can't load a full 10 days .

Re: Looking for survivors to join Team "The survivors"

Sorry, Ghostie, did I spray you? Or did my splash remind you?
Do you have a tax on water?
We do in Denmark. They call it a "green tax".
We have many "green taxes" but the one on water is a little peculiar at first sight.
Hardly any country has richer water ressources than Denmark,
and practically all water is pumped up from the underground - purified by nature.
The water I drink today may be rain that fell during the Viking age or older.
After having drunk flat, anonymous bottled water when away travelling,
it's heaven to drink grand cru tap water.
Well, water is cheap, but it is expensive to treat when it has turned into waste water,
so the tax may be all right.
Saved water does not turn into waste water.
Water is wonderful.
Was to my weekly swimming/water gymnastics my muscles remind me.
I pay a small fee to an organization called "Senior Exercise" and they have everything going.
Being in the swimming hall along with 21 more mermaids an a few mermen, is delightful,
to see the laughing faces while we struggle to jog or
handle barbells of Styrofoam moving gallons of water with the music is blasting
in the concert acoustics of tile, glass and concrete
I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do ...
or slide through the water to Strauss's wonderful
An der Schönen Blauen Donau
while the sun glares through the large windows is worth any "green tax"
tongue

Many of us are survivors - and this helps us survive longer.
Wouldn't you, please, join as a permanent member of *The Survivors*?

You think they are lightweight?
They are
tongue - above water!
Under water
- well, try forcing something Styrofoam down next time you go swimming or diving ....

Have a set for my pool. They're hard work!

Lovely water from the aquafer here. 10 thousand year old water with lots of healthy minerals. Yummy!

Re: Looking for survivors to join Team "The survivors"

I never heard that one, rcc, but in a tv program years ago,
a very old American - and I never forget because it was wise and funny - said:
"If those were the good old days, I would have enjoyed them some more"

There is a Danish one that comes close to the one you quote, dealing with schadenfrohe:
Lacking own happiness others' misfortune is not to be looked down upon.
