widdershins, Thanks for the advice. I wish I had more time. Presently my day job has me involved in 30 groups on LinkedIn. My day job generates massive amounts of email even when it is throttled back. Most of the emails have to be read to see if there is something I need to follow-up on. The LI groups are full of jobs in the discussion area (jobs should be in the jobs section not the discussion section) and it is not uncommon to get an email that there are 50-100 new discussions in one group. I have to read the group to see if there is information there useful to me. This wears me out.

Back when USENET groups were the in thing I was active in a cancer group. There was so much cross posting of unrelated information by Trolls that it was hardly usable, that is the problem with unmoderated groups; but I stuck with it for a number of years. With Web 2.0 Usenet is a dinosaur and everyone is using twitter, Facebook, blogging, etc... which I am involved with. The problem i see is that there are many people that are using cancer to raise money and it is difficult to know who is indeed a real charity. All of the so called charities are similar to the cross posting in that it just covers up everything else. I have some apps that handle some of those issues Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, etc... on iPhone and similar programs on my PC. It still boils down to a lot of time and effort to wade through it all. I will persist.

The last time I looked for a SNURK signature he was no longer responding. I know he is/was an IBM employee and most likely the requests were overwhelming and never ending so he slipped silently away. Have you seen anything that indicates SNURK is in the building?

I think the advice to talk to myself came up in a discussion with myself. Therefore, the forum police will have to pin that one on my alter ego.
