Hi mac1, Even I had drink last night, which is very rare for me now, can't mix my pills with alcohol as death can occure or some other terrible side-effects.

When I last talked about my difficulties on my new box, I believed them to be solved, however the lockups during video play still happen, just not as often, I have spent the past week trying out all sorts of things to find and fix the problem.
Unfortunately, it is my graphics card that is causing it. I got the Nvidia 1050TI because it requires less power but still gives me the option of playing a game reasonably well, If I'd gone for the plain 1050, I would not have the problem and Linux would be stable as it should be. Until there is a fix for this card, and I'm hoping it will only take a month or so, I'm having to run windows 10. :(

On the plus side, I actually got TrueOS working reasonably well, its performance on WCG though was not that great. I took the time to try out a large number of Linux Distributions and I have to say that Gentoo was the fastest but also the most difficult to get WCG working. I might switch to it when the fix for the card comes in. Also liked Antergos, but I felt really odd about Elementary, kind of like I was trapped in a box!
