Re: Minnesota Crunchers

The machine BSOD'ed for some reason. Restarted it and works fine.

We should know by tonight how we are doing in the 8th birthday challenge. Excited to find out :)

Yesterday my sons computer running the new ATI 7770 bsod. So I knocked the task down to 4 from 5.
Going to monitor it for a while.

What was the BSOD error message?

I'm using the latest non beta boinc from Berkeley. My son rebooted before I seen it so I will have to go into the logs and find it. I will post it if I find it.

I can't believe the points you guys are putting up... shock

FWIW I'm running the 12.11beta4 driver on all my Win7 machines. Rock solid so far.

I was also running the 12.11 drivers, boinc 7.0.31, win 7-64 and had a bsod...maybe just a bad batch of wu or just a random coincidence that it happened to both of us at the same time. The machine is normally rock solid with gpu units

Thanks for joining us deltavee. Should help out quite a bit.

In some cases the BSOD is a Windows problem with the way it handles the video drivers. The 12.11beta4 drivers along with version 7.0.36 of BOINC seem to resolve these issues most of the time. If it happens again make note of the BSOD error message. That can be helpful in resolving the issue if it reoccurs.

Fellow fellows smile

Some technical item.
Any idea how to get Lexmark pro715 printer installed?

Printer is out of factory box literally.
Printer is very fine, it works on my another PuuCees just fine, but on this one Vista PuuCee (from Äkkentyre) I receive this error every time, I have try different HW's and client version but I always end up this error message.
Any idea how to work this around?

Drivers are signed, that is not real issue behind this.

I have try driver form DVD on box and from Lexmark page, but I just cannot get this worked around.

Vista has strict security requirements, sometimes too much so, which is one of the reasons people did not care for it much. My first suggestion is to try to install it as "Administrator". Also check that the security provisions are set to give you permission to install new software. Hope this helps.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

And if you haven't already, disable UAC, at least for the install.
