Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Not yet. However the dry weather has curbed their number. We just had a total of 2 and 3/4 inches of rain a cople of days ago which will probably produce another hatch. However the rain was sorely needed, so you have to take the good with the bad. The tick season is over but the deerflies are out in full force. The only thing that really stops the skeeters is the first hard frost. Traditionally in mid Minnesota the date is around Sept. 20 or so. Once the mosquito population is decimated by this it is so much more pleasant.

Hope the heat and fires in your area have abated.

Cheers

That is so sad. Most people do not realize it is risky, dangerous work.

Greetings to all the new members! Despite my slacking on the communication front, I'm still here.

Keep your eyes open... could be news in the next 86400.

That and the DNR's NUKING of the insects in the wetlands. Saw another helo with the big anti-bug tanks taking off this morning FCM.

For those that wonder what/where the heck FCM is, a small "reliever" airport I pass every day on the way to work.
