Finland was condemn extremely hard war indemnity after WWII, and actually manage handle those.
There is not many county on this planet that had manage do so, and it has been very big national pride here of course.

But truth is that actually U.S.A. did take care of those. So actually finish war indemnity was very well hidden form of Marshall aid.
CCCP was desire all possible western technology because it was so much more advanced, there fore they put so heavy indemnity to Finland that it could never survive from it.

This is actually easy to count, Finland was agricultural nation that was bombarded to oblivion, and all the sudden it was able to delivery huge industrial complex to east.
This also changed on 1948 when cold war was raising, and USA did not supply anymore anything to CCCP.

So thank you fellows, we will never forget!

As I remember it from history class back in the 1960's, Finland was the only country to pay its war debt/reparations. I, for one, enjoy to hear your observations on the economic situation, because it is a view we do not otherwise get in the news here. I get some of it from the BBC broadcasts, but that is on quite late here so I tend to miss them often. Besides, it is sometimes better to get the views from those that are living the situation rather than just from the newspaper or the radio/TV.
Watch also Banco Santander of Spain. They have not stuck their necks out on the risky derivatives or securities. As we would say here "They have stuck to their knitting." They stick to what they know best. They will have a good base to expand if they desire.
