Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Hope there's enough left for 1 more day as I need that for ruby.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

So far SekeRob's dashboard is showing that HCC has 43 days left (remember this is only an estimate and can change up/down depending on many factors). So Zarozinia, it looks promising that you will get your ruby badge.

Gotta crunch... Gotta crunch... Gotta crunch...

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I get about 10 days for every calendar and that means less than nine days before I reach six years, and then it's about 36 days for every year beyond that. It will be interesting to see how long HCC is active.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

this project has also shifted from normal to medium feeder priority and the days left by SekeRob's chart are slowly growing to match.

I understand hfcc slowed trying to make it more seamless between whats currently on tap and whats coming up soon but i was wondering why they didn't just leave this project at normal and let it finish up

personally i would just love to have this be another project we have finished and waiting on whats next

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Me, I must be living in the 5th dimension... T7 was slowed so that the *exclusive* crunchers could continue working on HFCC until T8 is available, anticipated in December. Even with the slowing, T7 is next to complete, so there will be a little hiatus for that science...

edit: ... so is my guesstimation.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I assume T7 is Target 7? I thought that these targets were for HFCC and not HCC. I thought HCC was nearly complete -- only a month or so left -- is nasher talking about HCC or HFCC. I am crunching HCC exclusively at this time and PV work units are about 200 while IP are at 379. I haven't seen any slowdown in the amount of work I have been getting for HCC.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

May take longer then Feb now looks like a lot have stopped the project looking at the chart.. got to love new projects more work distribution for those doing dynamic research or running CEP2 which seem to have top priority if set to unlimited..

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

it depends on a lot of things... right now they have put the project to MEDIUM weight and with dddt2 havering a bit of rain you also have people jumping to grab those few... also a few of the beta tests showed up and that grabbed some people as well...again the chart we all love is sekerob's and as he keeps saying its only a best guesstimate of what is happening. if they wanted to they could probably shift HCC to high gear and lower all the other projects to medium or less and we could get done by new years.

honestly i think the reason HCC is running slower is the scientists are busy working on getting HCC2 up and ready to go... and while that happens they have less time to deal with the results from HCC1 so it was slowed to a medium.

also another reason might be they want HCC1 to last till HCC2 is ready to go so we dont loose the people who are cancer only crunchers.

also with HFCC in a slowdown till T8 is ready they may have slowed HCC1 down also for the same reason... to not exhaust the cancer work until they are ready to go with more work.

also watching the chart is showing HCMD2 end time dropping like a stone we are getting some badge hunters pushing there to get there final badge.

again with so many different projects running the shift from one to another makes predicting when it might end harder. but i love watching the chart.

personally if I had control of the work I would push the projects almost done to done and then let work resume on all the other projects... but again I have no clue on the inner workings of WCG there is probably lots of contracts and scientists wishes and the potential loss of crunchers as some projects end and all that stuff that i know nothing about in the works...

so right now as it looks at yesterdays stats the only way to push HCC1 to the end would be to have a lot more than 12500 cpu's devoted only to HCC1

hfcc would be easyer to push though since you would only need 3800 cpu's devoted only to HFCC only based on yesterdays stats.

of corse since i only have 5 cpu's running (hopefully by the end of the week i will get another one back in the game...) I have no chance on pushing projects so I am happy badge hunting.

as of Sunday i will be officially 1 year 7 months a survivor of thyroid cancer. so yes cancer projects have a little extra push in my mind. I also understand that there are some people who only want to crunch cancer projects so I am assuming the slowdown is so they can do the work they are happy with while more work is being prepared for all of us in the next wave of cancer projects.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

A glance at Sekerob's chart shows that the best guesstimate is that HCC now has 57 days left. That's higher than when I last checked in on it, and I'm a bit disappointed. Lowered feeder priority notwithstanding, I'd like to complete another project off the grid.

I know there's a big push on the C4CW board to complete C4CW by Christmas. While I don't think we can complete any one project by that time (it's too close by now!), I wouldn't mind seeing a similar concerted push to finish HCC with a bang by, say, the end of January? For that very reason, I'm considering shifting entirely to HCC once I finish my sapphire for GFAM (about a week left to go on that).

Maybe a dual push for both HCC and HCMD2? Since they're both so close to finishing. biggrin Hey, knocking out two projects within a month of each other would be pretty sweet. I remember when that happened for CEP1 and IADS...but that seems like it was too long ago!
