Re: "The survivors"

You never do anything half way, Captain rose
- and you are better at explaining than I am at understanding.
BUT
if I understand this correctly, Sweden will be behind us
in what was 7.25 days as the time of your writing
which also means that by then all the other teams you listed
will look at our clean energy exhaust pipes ....

Re: "The survivors"

That's correct.
However, this is all based on computer prediction.
If we drop our number of points per day we will not overtake them.
To make this all come true we have to continue at the current rate.
I can't produce more points as everything I have is already running 24/7.
When the HCC GPU project starts my 3-4 compatible graphics cards should produce some more points.

Re: "The survivors"

On that same topic our stats are bound to go down because two members have gone intermittent or stopped contributing.
I just got an email from one member complaining about a grinding sound.
It is most likely a fan bearing.
This member is not technical and knows that stopping BOINC stops the grinding sound.

I am looking for 1-2 new members to fill the gap.

We have many visitors to our thread and I would like to invite them to stay a while.
Visitors are always welcome here.

Re: "The survivors"

One of the advantages of crunching with an Abacus is there are never any grinding sounds.
Just the pleasant clicking of the beads as they whiz about. tongue

Re: "The survivors"

grumpygrampy,
You are doing well with badge collecting.
I see you have a snail.
That tells me you are most likely Abacusrunching more than 10 hours a day.
Did I spell that correctly?

nasher,
I see you passed 2,500,000 total credits today at http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=team&proj=bwcg&team=9611

We have a previous team member stop by to crunch for awhile.
NAP2614 was here last September and has stopped by once again.
Welcome, stay as long as you please.

'allo 'allo
My Captain wants some of you to help us to push this team past the ones he listed above ^^^^
devilish especially Sweden
- permanent crunchers, survivors or friends of survivors
- visiting crunchers in Mercedeses or Smarts
- abacus or water taxi crunchers
devilish as long as you help us beat Sweden, we'll welcome you
- when we are done doing that, he'll list some more, so don't go away
devilish there may be more Swedish teams out there

Re: "The survivors"

Hmm,
little mermaid,
A little competition never hurts.
But do I sense a little bit of resentment regarding Sweden?

Re: "The survivors"

No, I like Sweden as a country
- much of the Southern part was Danish back in time and some of it wants to become Danish again -
no, not really resentment, but Sweden used to beat us in football (soccer)
throughout my entire childhood
- many a depressing summer Sunday listening to the radio reporter spoiling my dad's mood -
and most of my adult life, and I think for that reason
most Danes of my generation want to beat Sweden in any competition they can lay their hands on
- WCG included biggrin
Stats:
Sweden won 44 sad
Denmark won 36 tongue
17 ended undecided
So, Captain: Let's beat Sweden, please devilish

Re: "The survivors"

Sweden look who's coming ....
nasher, I'm sure those specs are cat's drawer
- I know I should be able to see mine somewhere (I did once - but don't tell me where, please)
- I also know that my armament is a Lenovo ThinkCentre and a Lenovo ThinkPad (they both think for me)
and - touch wood - they have run impeccably for four and two years.
They seem harmonically composed and robust.
I think we can beat Sweden a few hours after the UPS guy has rung your door bell
tongue
love struck
