Re: Minnesota Crunchers

All right, need to confess. Also so jammy for me , jup did put some to my fish and ou poi, so umami biggrin

Seaweed is North Atlean cold water kind of one , so jup. One of those items that you should actually eat, since real real superfood, not like those fashion stuffs like goji bear or panda beer or something.

Opening canister itself is pretty joyful thing, seaweed has this real strong ultra-sweet odor, so strong that it is really three dimensional. Easy to understand why horses see this as candy.
Seaweed really does not have taste itself, it is 99,9% umami. It has just this let-me-have-another-bite interface, it just so appetizer, kind of total reset to taste memory. Makes next bite taste like first one, but really no taste itself, kind of smoke. You can eat smoked something, but not smoke itself.. So umami....

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Yes, umami. Hard to describe, but you know it when you taste it.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I bought a couple of LED bulbs back in 2009 and had them plugged in continuously since August of 2009. They both burned within a week of each other in the beginning of September. I think they were 2 watt (equivalent to a 25 watt incandescent). So they lasted about 53000 hours on continuously. That is at least twice as long as the compact flourescents have lasted. They are generally good for about 3 years and they use 12 watts I think for about the equivalent amount of light.. I have replaced the the original 2 LED bulbs with 4 watt LEDS (equivalent to 40 watt incandescent). I found them on sale for $2.95. Now i"ll see how long these last.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Some screw-based, I have buy from eBay.

Nope, not any idea how those performn long term.
EBay is just so nerd heaven, did buy wheelbarrow of these just for fun.
Every piece on pic, is somehow unique, so there is 3W SMD 2,7K, 3W SDM 6,4K, 3W COB 2,7K etc etc etc..

Some still lacking head lens, since really did take them to pieces.
Did found out that 3 Chinese W equals 1 European W. Most lamps are lacking heat paste, so light output might have some high yield what comes to light redundacy output.
Cooling anothervice seems to be reasonable, so enoug heatsink surface reflected to heat produced. So no prob to me, also lut heatpaste on eBay.

One lamp was (kind of one like that industial strengh E40 on most left) was funny on that matter that did take it to totally pieces, and wrote to dude who sold it to me, that he might benefit some, if rethink some foils on printed circuit board.
Dude did invite me to visit on his factory tongue

Now I am confused. I presume W=watt which should be a constant whether Chinese or European. W=VA if I remember correctly. I presume these are European voltage (220 ?) rather than North American (120).

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

More like that if add on eBay say 9W, then lamp is really 3W. If add 12W, then really 4W and so on...

I see. The ad inflates the actual wattage by a factor of 3. Thanks
