Still here Dataman. Unfortunately, have had to be occupied with other projects like job to pay the bills(getting to end of fiscal year), grass mowing in between rain storms, kids needs for this and that (fixed one bike last night) etc., etc. Saw your fires on a quick glance at the news. Hope you stayed out of their way. So far the tomatoes and potatoes are looking pretty good, but they could use more heat units. The pupkins and squash are finally coming along. The ground was just too cold too long for them to get a good start this year. Cheers Just a thread bump. Yep, summer is a busy time. I got my first fresh peas ... eat them out of the shell while I'm watering ... that's why I never get any to cook.  The beans are losing the blooms and the cataloupe is blooming profusely. The other stuff is on schedule. I harvested the first batch of potatoes ... they grow so fast up here I can get in two crops/season. All I need is a milk cow, drop calf, chickens and a squeeler and I could be self sufficent.   I may need to be looking at the grocery prices these days.  Crunch on ...  |

I may need to be looking at the grocery prices these days. .We need to stop using food as our fuel...  There are way better things out there to make alcohol with other than corn. We need that corn for bourbon....  |

Hydrogen - fuel of the future. Can't come too soon. Corn is a wonderful crop, but using it wholesale to make motor fuel is not the answer.

These hydrogen cars...what happens when its -10F outside? Where does the water go? On the road? They must have figured what to do about this...right?

First thing that comes to my mind is that there is not simply not any kind of need for same kind of long existing pipe than current engies. Temperature of escaping gas is very hot on begining of pipe, and finaly cooles down to other end. But if I would be designer of hydrogen system, I would create only acoustic trap to put down engine noise, but there is not abolutely any reason to start filter water vapour. There are probably at least two, probably more things you could do with the water. Boiling it and venting it as steam would be one thing. There would the problem of re condensing on the roadway when it is cold. Or you could collect it in a tank and revent it or dipose of it later if you did not want to dump it on the road. I do not know the volumes we would be talking about so that would have a bearing on how you dispose of the water.

Well me either to be honest, so this is just theoretical wandering (one of my favourite hobby).
----------------------------------------But I see it this way: If you design vehicle to run on cold climate, then you need enough thermal energy to cockpit. This is because of visibility. When moisture from exhale hit cold class, you do not get steamy windows, you get frozen windows. So you need to create amount of heat to keep cockpit warmed something like this needed = maximum speed x minimum temperature. Of course that amount is needed practically never, so you can use this energy reserve to keep emission warm, if necessary I really do not know. Beauty of stuff is.that carrying matter is high speed air. So you need to distribute some amount moisture to relatively great amount of air. This could be very different situation on urban use, example citybusses, which are travelling with very low speed... Congrats Team. I see we have moved up to #49 in the Boincstats site. However there are several teams close on our heels so we will probably drop back over the 50 mark in about a week.

Up in Sax Zim bog bird watching yesterday through Tuesday. Trying to see some birds in MN that I have not seen before. Finally got to see a White-winged Crossbill and a LeConte's sparrow. Two birds I did not expect to see here was a Sandhill Crane and Magpies. A nice surprise. Well, off to sleep early so I can get up early.
