Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Fellow fellows 8)

Some gearing stuff (difference between female and male):

Midwinter is here 8/

Last year I get winter jacket as present (it was actually bought with my credit card from most expensive store that there is in capital), well it was Canadian Goose Expedition Parka, and bill was 750€.

This autumn I actually buy my winter jacket all by my self, I'm too "old" to even care to look fashionable, I just try keep my self warm as possible.
So I did went to military stuff shop and get this us-n2bnavy jacket from Mil-Tec at price of 69€.

My first opinion was that I cannot see any difference between those jackets.
They look exactly same, and I'm not really doing any sledging on south pole, just try survive to work (5min outdoor to car per travel). So I think Icannot found any difference on my living horizon.

But I think I know why I seems to have so much more money that those lady's that I'm meeting.

Heh.

Well I have turned on all my computers as it is cold enough the A/C (or aircon depending where you are) isn't needed.

Heck, with the crazy natural gas prices, it might be cheaper to heat my home with computers this winter. They are predicting 20-35% increase in price shock

750 Euros. That is just unreal. That has to be over $1000 US. I am all for warm jackets in cold weather, but I think you made a much better choice on the cheaper model. You must be hanging out with ladies who have expensive tastes.

Fall weather is arriving late this year, but we will have frost tonight or tomorrow, about 2 weeks later than normal. Maybe enough to kill most of the @#$%^& bugs. On the warm days they are coating the south side of the house.

Cheers

She was 8)
I actually buy her handbag as Xmas gift costing more than 200€, after couple of months Louis Vuitton open it's first shop here, and she ask me to buy new one costing more than 1000€ because she just could not wear that old one any more. Too embarrassed, or something.

But I think it is my destiny.
I have not meet lady who would be interested me as computer nerd, but when they found out that I have private banking status, it goes like artillery close order: LEGS SPREAD!

I have learn to live with that 8/

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Yes it was actually quite sad movie.
I have saw that first time something like ten years ago, but I was so different person on emotional horizon that it was almost different movie.

Apropoo about American popular culture.

It actually have huge impact here.
As I said previously that this was closed economy, but this was not closed community as culturally, so all genres actually blooms here.
When I was kid, me and my pals plays occurred on that galaxy that we all know from Star Wars. Those movies did come here as re-runs regularly and hit again after some years.. So, I was Han Solo and my best friend was Luke Skywalker.

I actually have very warm memories from those days 8)
My father was culmination of town department leader, he did always everything by the book. He even always apply permission to have private firework (I think nobody else does this here) on new year from chief executive officer of a district and pay stamp duty to government.
Well, he always seems to play by the book.

But then movie called Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom return to local theatre.
Problem was that children of age twelve, was aloud to see that movie with their parents. I was not old enough but by father said that he will lie to ladies on box office and everything will go fine 8)
Well, ladies did not believe that I was old enough, but my father was very determine about that he's son is old enough to see this movie and we did have time of our life 8D

Generation on 60's was also under this cultural phenomenal.
I know it because those old timers use names like Indian hill, when they mean some certain real place on town.
One of them told me that when they were kids, they play cowboy's and indian's on that certain hill, and that is why everybody on that generation know location of that name.
Well, we do not have cowboys and indian's here, so it is easy to know what they have been watching on movies as kid.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

It is always interesting to see how others think of the U.S. by seeing the Hollywood version of how we live. Due to this there is quite the false impression in many cases. Hollywood distorts much of life for the entertainment value. Too bad really.
Had the first frost of the season finally. Harvested my pumpkins, squash and gourds. Pumpkins turned very nice. For some reason all of the butternut squash had large cracks in them. Other types, like buttercup, acorn, turban etc. looked good, although none of them yielded particularly well. The first digging of the potatoes looked good with 7 lbs(3.2 kilos) from three plants. Will dig onions later in the week.

Cheers
