Re: Minnesota Crunchers

They are back joe. Gets some while you can. Once I get 5 yrs on ebola, will be shutting down my dually for the summer. Other one will crunch CEP2. Unless of course another project pops up.

Last summer I ran full on for the summer, but I may cut back some this year. There is only so much of an electricity bill I can take. Every so often I get stuck with unexpected bills (just like anyone else). So I may shut down the two least efficient servers when it warms up, maybe more or just run them at night. We'll see.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Have been considering selling my dually (just mobo, chips, etc) to get something out of it. Maybe get a cheap hex to replace it.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Congrats, Joe.

Looks like we'll have another cool week for good crunching until things start to heat up for summer.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Congrats Joe.
Had my crunchers off while on vacation. Need a vacation to relax after my vacation. Seems I run around more on my vacation than at home.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Boy, have I been busy lately. Had to go up to northwestern Minnesota for a funeral last week. My 80+ mother and 90+ aunt needed to go to it (it was their last sister-in-law) and I was not about to let them drive from the Twin Cities up there. Funerals are always sad, but I got to see some cousins I haven't seen in over 40 years.
This week my range extender died. It was a Linksys Re1000 N300. No warning, just died. I found a Linksys R4000 N600 on sale for $50 and replaced it. The difference with the new range extender is like night and day. The new one with dual band works much smoother. It has kept the Linux machines from hiccupping every time the communication was interrupted.
Another good thing was my potatoes are now sprouting. I have been picking asparagus and rhubarb.
I took up substitute teaching at the junior high level this year so I am now waiting for the school year to end. There is such a shortage of substitute teachers here I could work 5 days a week if I felt so inclined.
Cheers

Ou dear, sure my condolences.

Put please, pics from potaes would be most appreciated. I mean some giant dudes you manage dig last year...

I have simply gave up outdoor planting, even on first days of June, outdoor temperature is very near close to zero point, and after all I'm next to sea and everything.
I did try plant some seeds, but midnight frost has kind of take care of them..

But sure, some on window sill.
This year did tried Lovage , some odd perennial with taste of salty liquorish.
Think it will not get any bigger, since like chew it on the flight when wake up in the morning..... Some very very very loving fresh taste, I just cannot keep my tooth out of those. Jamjamjamjamjam.....

If I get a good potato crop I will be glad to post the pictures. Nothing will be ready until the end of July at the earliest. We are still eating last years crop, but many of them are sprouting a lot, so they may only keep for another two weeks or so. After that they will be fed to the chickens. I am pleasantly surprised how well the bigger potatoes kept through the winter and spring. So far even the biggest ones have not had any hollow spots in them. The outlook for temperature here for the next two nights is possibly 32F(0C) so I am hoping it does not reach that. We have had some nice rains without storms so the moisture is now good in the soil.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Joe, ever plant tomatoes or other in a bail of hay/straw? Wife heard about this and wants to give it a try.
